Solar Deities

While doing some housekeeping chores earlier, my mind began to wander, as it often does. I thought about ISBEs and how they can inhabit large things like our sun—and other stars. I mean, all life on this planet has a living essence, which I know to be an ISBE. So, everything. Plants, animals, all of it. The planet itself is an ISBE we call Gaia.

And the sun is an ISBE. In the past, humans have assigned gods to the sun itself. Egyptians called it Ra, the force who held chaos at bay every night. The Greeks gave us Helios, later Apollo, riding the chariot of light. The Romans celebrated Sol Invictus, the unconquered sun. Hindus looked to Surya, carried across the sky by his seven horses, each one a spectral band. In Japan, Amaterasu was a goddess who withdrew from the world and plunged it into darkness until coaxed back. The Inca called their solar presence Inti, tying empire and bloodline to cosmic order.

Then there’s Sorath. If Ra and Amaterasu are masks of the sun’s ordered expression, Sorath is the shadow. A daemon of the solar current, bound up in Rosicrucian texts and Christian apocalyptic paranoia, hammered into the number 666. Steiner called it the adversary of Christ-consciousness. I call it what happens when the solar current is pulled through corruption—when human systems warp sunlight into incineration instead of illumination. It’s not the ISBE of the Sun itself. It’s the backlash. The feedback howl when someone runs too much current through the wrong wire.
